01Challenge and build
The problem
A firm that helps veterans with disability claims was losing first contact to voicemail and a shared inbox. Callers phone at all hours, about a claim that matters a great deal to them, and some are in crisis. Every call had to be answered and screened, and no one could be texted who had not agreed to it.
What we built
We built a 24/7 AI phone agent on a dedicated line. It discloses that the call is recorded, screens for a first-time claim, and takes intake with the firm’s approved script. A caller in crisis is pointed to 988 and 911, and the owner is paged by text. Each completed intake is logged as a phone inquiry for the team. Callers who agreed to texts get a next-steps message, and a consent-gated status text tells them when to check their inbox. The phone agent, automations, and texting line all run in accounts the firm owns.
The centerpiece
Every call answered, and no text without consent.
- 01 · Call answered
The agent picks up at any hour
It discloses that the call is recorded and screens for a first-time claim. Callers in crisis are pointed to 988 and 911, and the owner is paged.
- 02 · Intake captured
The approved script, every time
The agent asks the firm’s qualifying questions and logs a phone inquiry for the team.
- 03 · Consent text
A next-steps text, if they said yes
Only callers who agreed to texts receive the message. Consent is checked before every send.
- 04 · Status texts
A nudge when paperwork is waiting
When a case reaches a step where paperwork has been emailed, the client gets a text to check their inbox and spam.
